Fried foods....
So much have I been criticized for drinking the ever tasteful Full Throttle Energy Drink, but there is such a food that is by far more unhealthy than any sugar-filled product out there, and no one has seemed to say much about it. That food is "cooking oil" which is used in a majority of all fried foods, like chicken, fish, and worst of all french fries. They contain the dreadful trans-fats which if eaten in excess could cause one to have an instant heart attack (see the movie Super-Size Me). The worst place about this insane level of unhealthiness in food is McDonalds, and for the purpose of sanity I won't go into details about them on my blog, but would like to refer yall to a website about their history with obesity, which is right here (please scroll down to view a history of all their lawsuits).
I personally have not eaten a fried french fry in 4 months now (I have eaten baked ones, I bake them at home now in our oven pretty regularly). I have also limited myself to only 2 meals per week that include a fried food of any kind, and have not eaten at McDonalds in 2 months (and don't plan to ever again in my lifetime).
Well thats enough of my blabbing, so I'll just let the website do the talking.
"In Detroit, 11-year-old Vincent Ingram bites into a McDonald's cheeseburger and notices that it infested with live maggots. He later files a $1 million lawsuit against the restaurant."
15 Comments:
I bet the little boy in Detroit was ecstatic to bite into maggots for one million dollars. People do that for much less on Fear Factor.
What makes you claim that McDonalds is the worst of them all?
I like your excuse for drinking your energy drink--pointing out something that is less healthy to make you feel good about your choice. It's like this--I know I killed someone but at least it was only one, after all that Manson guy...
That is also cool about limiting the times that you put things in your body that could give you an instant heart attack. Now there are only two chances this week that you will have an instant heart attack.
It is also fishy, highly convenient, that you assume that Calipari is a moderate!
Best wishes,
Anonymous
I like my french fries, but I do not like McDonalds. Does that mean anything?
Oh, and I made a post on Hyper Moments! Been quite a while...
Also, wow John, very anonymous...
John your kind-hearted, compassionate comments on my blawg never cease to warm my heart as I read them.
I'm sure its always possible that the kid did it only for the money, but you know what if I found maggots in a burger I'd sue them for at least $1 mil, even if I didn't bite into it.
I am only saying McDonalds is the worst because of the facts that I have heard and read. If you can show me facts that there are more "unhealthy" restaurants out there please do tell me about them so that you can make me feel like my blog post is even more worthless. On my excuse of energy drinks, well I would hardly compare unhealthy intake of food/drink to be anywhere compared to taking someone's life, but I never said I drank Full Throttle's very often, nor did I encourage drinking them, I'm just saying that I don't like it how people try to look down on me for one thing but look at something else like its perfectly fine. A small order of fries from almost any restaurant is far more unhealthy than a 16oz can of Full Throttle Energy Drink, thats just a hard-fact.
On limiting bodily intake of fried food, would you not say that 2 servings of a type of dish that is considerably "unhealthy" is going to be better for your body than 7 servings of that type of dish? Basically your taking a smaller intake of unhealthy trans-fats and other material that could potential clog your arteries and heart, therefore it provides the heart more time to repair itself over the course of time, though I do confess to know very little about how the body functions in this way, I just try to eat healthy (and you seem to find something wrong with that). I said that the "instant heart attack" can result in eating food with high amounts of trans-fats "in excess" (excess meaning: too much too quickly, and clogging the flow through the arteries into/from the heart).
I do not confess to "know" or "assume" that Calipari is a Moderate, Democrat, Republican, or anything, I am only providing thought to the subject based on the facts that I have observed. Perhaps the post title "Coach Calipari is a Democrat" was the only thing that I can see that would lead to any kind of assumption on my behalf, and yes I do confess it may have been a bit misleading, but I did say immediately following, in the blog post, that "i'm not 100% sure" which meant that I was not trying to jump to any premature conclusions (though I could have probably reworded the whole thing better than I did).
Thanks Mr. Anonymous for being so kind as to reveal yourself. Have a nice day. ;)
Andrew F. - well I could say it isnt the healthiest way to eat, but its your choice. I personally do not recommend it, but like I said its your choice buddy. :)
Joseph,
Upon rereading my previous comment, I find that I may have been unnecessarily harsh in my quest to have fun with your post. For me, you are so very easy and fun to argue with, but if it ceases to be fun, then maybe it should cease to be. I was merely taking certain comments of yours and then trying to show you how they sounded to me. Still, I stand by all my points, though they could have been presented with a measure of gentleness. Also, I knew that I wasn't being anonymous, that was the joke.
I suppose the reason that I responded in the first place is because I was wondering who it was that caused you to write the post. Apparently someone has tried to make you feel bad about drinking your energy drinks while they were eating their evil fast food.
buh-bye,
Anon
wow..SOMEone's a health nut... :) I like fries. I don't like McD's though.
I like french fries, but I prefer the less greasy kind that you can unfreeze in the oven.
McDonalds is okay. Whenever I go, I usually stick to a salad or a parfait or one of those fish-sandwich-things. Occasionally, though, I'll indulge in a McFlurry.
:)
Ohhhh and Full Throttle rocks!
I got hooked on it at Boot Camp in July. The regular one is much better than the red one, in my opinion. But I try to only have one or 2 a month.
I guess I'm the only one here who really like McDonald's fries! Call me crazy, but they're some of my favorites!
I didn't really realize how unhealthy they are...but I don't eat them often so I guess it's all good!
i like McD's fries too. but after hearing about how bad all that grease and fried-ness is for you...i try to limit my intake of the yummiest fries in the world.
YES! someone else thinks they're the "yummiest fries in the world"! Woohoo! *high fives Gabbie*
woot!
*high fives lace*
here's a story for you kids:
i used to have this friend named joe. he used to comment my blog, as i did his. but lately...idk...i think Summer ate him alive.
:)
hahaha just messin with ya.
John- Its ok, its fun most of the time, but there are also times in which I grow a bit tired of it, this was one of those few times. I hope you dont stop debating/arguing though because its fun for me too. ;)
Lydia- Interesting, though how often do you eat them would be the question?
Gabbie & Lacey- Yes Gabbie the Full Throttles are awesome, though not quite a health drink themselves. As for the fries, I agree that McD's fries were tasty, but its the excess grease and being covered in salt that made them so tasty, and it gave a feeling of guilt everytime I put one into my mouth. Now it amazes me that my arteries have survived such torment of having eaten those potato-flavored grease sticks my entire life. I highly recommend staying away from them, personally.
That maggot was the boy's blessing, I guess.
