Joe's Blawg

Nothin' special here. Just ordinary "blawg" conversation from a typical college student striving to glorify Christ with every minute of his life.

Collierville meeting

Not much happened this past week. I meant to post this earlier in the week, but never got around to it (yea I'm getting lazy). Anyway not much happened this past week. Except that I went to the Collierville meeting. I went to all of the services, they were all really good. I dont remember the names of the preachers though. Anyway I'll talk about more stuff when I have more to say. Hope to have some pictures and maybe stuff thats more interesting on here soon to keep the few who actually read my blog coming.

God Bless,
Joe

Football and other stuff

Well its been a fun week. I went to the Memphis/Chattanooga game on Saturday. I went to GC first and played some basketball with Nathan, Andrew, and Tyler. And then we drove over to the game. Ryan, Tyler, Lydia, Rachel, Sarah, Nathan, Seth, Mercy, Andrew, Grace, and me all went. It was fun, but not as exciting as the Ole Miss game. It was a blowout, 59-14. At least QB Will Hudgens got some good experience in there, in a less-pressuring situation. The Tulsa game next week will be a real test of how good he will do for the rest of the season. I'm confident we can beat them, but theres no telling. Also in other football news, Florida beat UT (halleluah!!! hopefully this puts UT out of the running for the National Championship, which is all I care about, I just dont want a repeat of 1998-99, hopefully Matt Case isnt reading this). Anyway outside of football not much is going on besides school. I have my first test of the semester this Friday, in Marketing, and then one next week in Accounting, so things will probably be getting more hectic.

Also I plan to be at the Collierville meeting this weekend for any and every service I can make. If your reading this, I hope to see you there.
God Bless,
Joe

P.S. I hope to have some pictures of some sort put up on here soon (like in a couple days) to make this blog more interesting, so keep checking here. Thanks ;)

Last week

Not much happened really. Just classes as usual. Football on Saturdays, but no interesting games to talk about, Memphis didnt play, UT didnt play (so I couldnt cheer for the other team). On Sunday there was some cool NFL games, the Titans lost (woohoo!!!!) and on Monday night the Falcons won!!!! So it was a good weekend for football I guess, but otherwise just a boring one. My entire family was gone Friday night so I decided to run to blockbuster and rent The Ring 2 (horror movies are best in the dark, and alone, the scariest possible environment). O and also we have 3 cats that we got from my aunt and are trying to give away, and had to round up 2 of them to give to some people on a farm on Saturday, otherwise thats about it, nothing else interesting to talk about. Maybe I'll have a more interesting post in a few days or next week sometime.

God Bless,
Joe

Memphis/Ole Miss game

Well I just got back a couple hours ago from the game. It was a lot of fun, despite the loss. Well anyway I went to the game with a bunch of people from Grace Chapel, we got there about 2 hours before kick off, so there was a lot of waiting. But when the game finally started, Patrick Bryne, the Tiger's starting QB, got injured on the Tiger's starting drive, on the 3rd play, which after the game I found out it was a season-ending injury. That is such a shame because from what Coach West said in practice, I got the impression he was really the only halfway decent QB on the team. Well anyway backup Will Hudgens QBed the rest of the game, and didnt do all that bad, but still not a great offensive game from him. Maybe with this experience he will improve on it and turn into a decent QB for the rest of the season. Anyway the Tiger's lost the game, 6-10. We almost had a chance with the ball on the Ole Miss 6 yard line and on 2nd and goal with about 23 seconds left in the game, Hudgens threw an interception to Ole Miss. Ahh well... at least it was an exciting game. I got to sit on the end next to the row, which I personally hate because you have people walking past you on one side for pretty much the entire game. I sat next to Lydia and above John (well sort of, he had to move over after a few minutes because some others had tickets in those seats). It was really just fun to socialize with people at the game, instead of just watching it, which is why its not just terribly disappointing that it was a loss. Well anyway I got school again tomorrow. At least its only one class, but still I dont want to go back. So I guess I better go.

God Bless,
Joe

First week of school

Hey yall, its Thursday evening, and I'm just lieing on my bed on my laptop as usual. Anyway since my last post a week ago stuff has happened, so I have to talk about it. I have started school again. I started Monday. I think its going to be an easy semester for me. All my classes seem pretty easy. I'm taking Business Statistics (9:10-10:05am MWF), Marketing (10:20-11:15am MWF), Business of Hospitality (5:30-6:55pm MW), and Accounting (11:20am-12:45pm TR). And I work in the Computer Labs, on Tuesday from 1-5pm (in McWherter) and Wednesday from 11:30am-5pm (in Smith), and I havent worked this one yet but I also work on Sunday from 5-10pm (in Smith). Anyway about my classes, I have a super-easy teacher for Bus. Stats. And Marketing doesnt seem too bad. I dont think I have the best teacher in the world for Bus. of Hospitality, but its an easy class so it wont be too bad. And Accounting, my teacher isnt too bad, I can tell it'll be one of my hardest classes but its easier than the other section of Accounting which I made a C in, so I'll probably get through it ok. Anyway everything else has been fine, I'm really getting pumped up for college football this weekend, and in particular, the Memphis/Ole Miss game on Monday (Labor Day). I cant wait, GO TIGERS!!!! Be sure to wear yall's Tiger blue out to the game. And Eli Manning, we hardly knew ye. Lol, lets Rebel against those Rebels!!! DeAngelo for DeHeisman!!!

Well anyway, God Bless,
~Joe
